Adam Lambert Laments Exit of Simon Cowell from ‘American Idol’

Janury 17, 2010 at 8:38 pm by Adrian.

Adam Lambert lamented the exit of Simon Cowell from the ‘American Idol’ stage. He was on the Oprah Winfrey show when he spoke about the startling revelation that Simon Cowell, the acidic judge of ‘American Idol’ and the most popular figure on the judges bench, decided to quit the show after this season. The latest season is already under way.

When asked what he felt about the news, Adam Lambert said: “The audience will definitely miss Simon. The contestants will miss out on really honest criticism. Sometimes it can be a little personal, and I know other contestants took it to heart sometimes and got really stressed out about what he would say. [But] I think that that’s important to making you a better performer."

But Adam definitely sees hope in the show continuing to be popular despite the exit of the most popular figure since the inception of ‘American Idol’. He said, "Ultimately, after the first couple weeks of auditions, the audience tunes in every week for the contestants. [Audiences] grow fond of one or a couple of the people and they get behind them and they’re invested in them... we tune in to hear the contestants blossom or not."
