LAPD and DA Fight Over Conrad Murray

The feud between LAPD and the LA County District Attorney's office intensified. They are fighting over Dr. Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson's doctor. Conrad has finally decided to surrender in court. But the LAPD is upset that the DA's office did not inform them about charging Conrad or arraigning him. The DA kept even top cops at the LAPD out of the loop, going ahead with the matter on their own. The members of the DA's office met the LAPD. That was when they decided to charge Conrad with involuntary manslaughter charges.

But things went out of hand then on. The DA's office planned for Conrad to be produced in court. He will be driven to the LA County Sheriff's Office at the Airport Courthouse in LA. There he would be booked and finally produced in court. He can walk in without handcuffs or chains. The LAPD is apparently very miffed at this plan. They want to arrest Conrad with handcuffs. In fact, they are right here as that is the protocol for charges dealing with homicide cases.

As the feud deepens, the scheduled arraignment will not be taking place this Friday. The plan has been called off and nothing definite has been said about when this thing is going to take place again. This is a real shame that Conrad wants to surrender and there is such a mess-up in handling the case.
