Tiger Woods Scandal worth $12 Billion!

December 29, 2009 at 11:26 pm by Scott.

To put it in the most bizarre possible way, Tiger Woods proved to be the solitary stimulus package for countless celebrity gossip portals and magazines and tabloids all over the world. While gossip mongers made tons of money out of the scandal, Woods’ sponsors lost money like blood letting. Two professors of economics estimate that the net loss to sponsors was approximately $12 billion! That would be about $1 billion for each of his mistresses!"

The sponsors of Tiger Woods, like Nike, Gatorade and EA Sports were the worst hits. They made the mistake of carefully wording statements to support Woods when the scandal came to the fore during Thanksgiving. They had no inkling what was to follow. Accenture salvaged whatever they could by pulling the plug on advertisements featuring Tiger Woods.

The question that stares everyone in the face is, now that the initial shock value of the scandal has died down, will the fallen golfer be able to win back his shredded reputation? But that does seem like a long shot, what with him being spotted with Rachel Uchitel in his Palm Beach yacht as late as last week. Man, he’s got it in him! What do you think?
