Kal Penn Ditches White House!

Things seem to be going a little rough for the Obama administration! After their health care reforms panned by all alike, there are other concerns on their mind as well. One among them is the position of the Associate Director of Public Engagement. It was not that the position was vacant. Actor Kal Penn was holding that position. He joined the administration after he campaigned for Obama during the Presidential election. Incidentally, when he signed up for the post, he used his real name, Kalpen Modi.

We all know that he ditched ‘House’ to be on board with Obama. But his stint is coming to an end. Maybe he has realized that the time has come for yet another ‘change’! Kal Penn will go back to do what made him a household name: the Harold and Kumar series. After two successful editions, the franchise will begin shooting soon to release the third film featuring Harold and Kumar. Kal Penn surely did not want to miss out on that opportunity. You cannot possibly blame him for choosing a meaty role over a fixed job!

Kal Penn couldn’t make much of a mark as an actor. His work in the Harold-Kumar films is the only notable one. You can throw in ‘The Namesake’ as well. But that was more for a niche audience and did nothing much to his popularity as an actor. There’s news from the new Harold-Kumar film as well. There are speculations that the movie will be shot in 3-D and will have a Christmas theme. Fans of the franchise will definitely look forward to seeing the marijuana loving Kumar. Kal Penn is upbeat.
