Simon Monjack to Sue Warner Bros for Death of Brittany Murphy

Simon Monjack, the weird husband of the just-deceased actress Brittany Murphy, is about to drag Warner Brothers to court for the wrongful death of his wife. His claim is that the studio is responsible to bring about the supposed heart attack that killed Murphy. He told ‘Daily Beast’: “They killed her.” Just two weeks before the death of Murphy, she was fired from the sequel of ‘Happy Feet’, a Warner Brothers production. Monjack said,"She was devastated."

Though Murphy’s death has not been confirmed by a coroner, Simon Monjack seems convinced that Brittany Murphy died of a heart attack brought about by the cancelled contract with Warner Bros: "You're disposable as an actress or actor. But I am tough. I litigate when somebody does something wrong to me. It's one of the reasons I make enemies." He played the forthright card well, saying, “I was never the right guy to marry Brittany. She was supposed to marry a young dashing star with a million-dollar smile, not end up with a balding, heavyset guy who doesn't play by their rules."

Despite this confession, Simon Monjack retaliated sharply when he was called a freeloader. He says, "I spent over a million on her engagement rings ... probably $3 million on clothes. When Brittany died she had 60 pieces of unworn Louis Vuitton ... The dog had Louis Vuitton. This was all me. We kept our money separate." He said that his presence did no harm to her career because her career was over before they met. He added, "She trusted some people who she shouldn't have." It’s another matter that we consider him to be one of those “people”!
