Hope Dies for Jasmina Anema

This was one inspirational story that the world was looking up to. But sadly it didn’t work out the way the world was praying for. 6-year old Jasmina Anema died after fighting 13 months of leukemia cancer. She was diagnosed with this rather aggressive form of cancer and was advised a bone marrow transplant. Singer and performer Rihanna helped her find a donor. Rihanna is in mourning over Jasmina’s death. This is what she said in a statement released to the media:

"I am incredibly heartbroken that Jasmina has passed away. She was such a brave and special child. She showed more strength and spirit than many adults I have met. I feel blessed that I was able to have her in my life, and know that through her example she has saved many lives. She was truly an angel on earth."

Jasmina was admitted to the NYU Langone Medical Center. She was diagnosed with pneumonia in both her lungs. On Jan 20, her mother Thea Anema wrote on the Twitter page that Jasmina was about to be treated with a new experimental treatment for her cancer. This was for the cancer cells reverting after a lapse in time caused by the replacement of the bone marrow. Last night she wrote: "At 10:55 on January 27th, after a long battle, Jasmina lost her fight with leukemia. Thanks for all of your support."
