Dexter is an American drama series adapted for the screen from Jeff Lindsay’s Dexter novels. The Emmy Award winning screenwriter, James Manos, Jr. wrote the pilot episode and set the ball in motion. The action is set in Miami. The central character of the series is Dexter Morgan, played by Michael C. Hall. He’s a blood splatter pattern expert with the Miami Metro Police Department and a serial killer when his work with the police comes to an end at dusk.
But Dexter is not just another psychopath killer. He only kills people who make a certain mark in being prolific and not adhering to a moral code that his late father, Henry, taught him. His process develops as he goes around Miami killing people who fit the bill. His boss is Sergeant Doakes, the only man who might know about his serial killings. But he doesn’t give it away. Dexter receives a message from someone who identified himself as “The Ice Truck Killer”. Dexter visits the crime scene but he finds no blood on the scene. Dexter’s world is rattled but this mysterious character wants Dexter to keep playing the game of hide and seek. Dexter chases the person through Miami in trying to hunt the person down.
