Doctor Who
Doctor Who is about a time traveler who shuttles between times, past and present. He has his spaceship called the TARDIS. The spaceship looks like a 1950’s blue police box. On his time travels, he faces enemies and challenges and the series is all about how he overcomes these to emerge the hero. The series has made it to the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest running sci-fi show in history. It is also the most successful science fiction show ever.
Innovative storylines, extraordinary special effects on a shoe-string budget and effective use of electronic music makes Doctor Who what it is today. Now the special effects have improved drastically, of course. BBC Radiophonic Workshop produced the original music score of the series. The show is part of British folklore now. It has become a sort of cult series in UK and beyond the Atlantic.
Critics and masses have heaped praises on this sci-fi series. It won the BAFTA for the Best Drama Series in the year 2006. Ten actors have played the role of Doctor Who over the years. The different actors are weaved into the script as ‘regeneration’ and sometimes they co-exist. David Tennant plays the role at present and he will be there till 2010. Catherine Tate plays the role of his companion, Donna Noble.

Her next hearing is on Nov 30. -
