Legend of the Seeker
Legend of the Seeker is the quintessential story of good combating the evil. In the series, based on The Sword of Truth novels written by Terry Goodkind, an epic journey of good pursuing to stop evil is told. Richard Cypher is a young woods guide who, along with an enigmatic woman named Kahlan Amnell and a wizard named Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander, tries to stop the evil Darken Rahl from carrying out a rather horrifying task. The series is into its second season now.
The plot of the series unfolds in the fictional orld created by Terry Goodkind in his novels. The main provinces which act as locations and are a major motif in the series are Westland, Midlands and D'Hara. The place of D'Hara is ruled by Darken Rahl. The first season of the series was based on the first book of this series called Wizard's First Rule. There are some events shown on TV which do not feature in the book.
The basic premise of this Disney-ABC Domestic Television produced series is that Kahlan Amnell goes out to look for a wizard and a Seeker. The character of Richard Cypher has no choice but to take on the task that comes to him. The series won the 2009 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series.
