Numb3rs

Math is something that stalls us or excites us. Numb3rs is based on numbers. The series uses math as a main motif. It is how math is used by the FBI to solve crimes and bring the perpetrators to task. FBI agent Don Eppes recruits his mathematical genius of a brother, Charlie Eppes, to help solve crimes. The series is all about the relationship between the brothers and their father Alan Eppes. The location of the show is generally Los Angeles.

A typical episode on Numb3rs begins with a crime committed. The brothers then get to act, led by Don. Charlie explains the mathematical aspects of the crime. Other than these two, there's Larry Fleinhardt and Amita Ramanujan. The leads that Charlie provides through his mathematical derivations are used by the FBI agents to solve the case. The series is created by Nicolas Falacci and Cheryl Heuton.

The show had its share of mass following and critical praise. The creators, Nicolas and Cheryl, have won the Carl Sagan Award for Public Understanding of Science in 2006.
